OUR ACTIVITIES |
| Educating underprivileged children |
Inequalities of wealth and income distribution can be reduced through the spread of education. The Government is the major provider of school education services to the economically poor and socially marginalized people. But these seldom effectively reach their intended beneficiaries. Many children from economically and socially disadvantaged families are first generation learners. They do not get enough support, opportunity and encouragement at home for pursuing their studies. We play an important role in educating them. From the support we get from donors and philanthropists we are able to provide the quality education that they need.

 |
| Street children |
| We work closely with these children without home. We give them vocational training and non-formal education and prepare them to be able to earn
an honest income. We motivate them to give up their pernicious activities like drug addiction, drug peddling and picking pockets. We cannot give them back their lost childhood but it is our responsibility to assure them that there is still hope for them for leading a decent life. |
 |
| Women empowerment |
| Our approach is multi-faceted that includes literacy, hygiene and moral training. It gives underprivileged women necessary tools to uplift their communities. Women who receive training at our
centers are encouraged to return to their communities and share what they have learned. We try to encourage them to cultivate self confidence so that they can play an important role in improving conditions of their own families. We encourage them to get involved in household decision making in a male dominated society. We train them to get vocational training in formal and non-formal sectors. The purpose is to enable them in income generation activities and give them the confidence to assert their rights. |
 |
| Empowerment of adolescents |
Adolescence is a period of tremendous opportunities as well as of risk, characterized by physical, psychological and social change. We pay more attention on adolescents through our integrated approach to their education, health and social needs. Addressing their needs contributes not only to social and economic development, but also to social harmony, gender parity, population stabilization and improved quality of life. |
 |
Vocational training |
In order to make our nation’s development sustainable, we shall have to ensure that our workforce possesses quality vocational training. The availability of employable skills is one of the major determinants of how readily new job seekers find employment. We arrange for young people to take up vocational training and make them capable for generating income. |
 |
Promoting handicrafts |
We make craftsmen aware about the need to organize artisan clusters into professionally managed community enterprises on the principles of effective participation and mutual co-operation. |
 |
HIV/AIDS protection |
In spite of all the efforts being made by the government and non-government sectors, this disease is spreading at an alarming rate. Prevention being the only remedy, we are strengthening our efforts in creating more awareness about its prevention. |
 |
Clean environment |
We create basic awareness about the importance of having a clean and unpolluted environment. |
 |
Human rights |
Underprivileged and marginalized people and also those who are physically challenged are usually unaware of their rights. It is the paramount concern of the Government to protect them and promote their interests. But seeking legal remedy is complicated and expensive. We take up their cases and assist them in securing justice. |
 |
Adventure sports training |
The increasing demand for adventure sports has taken it out of the realm of hobby and holiday activities, and placed it as a satisfying career that can be pursued. India has immense potential for developing adventure sporting activities of all kinds. We encourage young people to get professional training and make their hobby into a challenging career. |
